      DASH masternode description

      A DASH masternode is a powerful server backed by collateral held in DASH.  and are designed to provide advanced services and governance on the blockchain. Dash has been associated with the concept of masternodes ever since the invention of this novel concept soon after the project started in 2014. Masternodes host full copies of the blockchain and provide a unique second layer of services to the network, facilitating advanced functions such as InstantSend, PrivateSend and usernames on the blockchain.

      DASH masternode minimum requirements

      1. 1000 DASH coins that are used as collateral to set up and secure your DASH masternode
      2. Only the official DASH wallet allows you to set up a masternode. It can be found on the DASH Website.
      3. A Virtual private server that has the minimum following specifications: 1x2Ghz CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of disk space and about 1TB network traffic per month. You can either set up your VPS by yourself or choose a VPS provider.
      4. Dedicated IP address (IPv4 preferred).

      How to set up to a DASH masternode

      1. You first need to set up a VPS - You can either do it yourself or choose a VPS service provider that will set it up for you. You will also need a static IP address. Most ISPs offer a dynamic IP address for home users.
      2. Set up your Operating System and connect to the Dash server. PuTTY is a good open source software that you can use to connect to the desired VPS
      3. Install a DASH wallet – Be careful that you are using the official wallet because it is the only one that can host a DASH masternode.
      4. Send you collateral 1000 DASH coins– You can send this collateral either from a hardware wallet or from the DASH core wallet.
      5. Activate your masternode – you can start up your masternode by using the settings panel of your hardware wallet or from the DASH core wallet
